Using the School Planner to Achieve Success

The planner is an important tool to achieve success and help students to reach their goals.  If students use their planner well, they will be able to track their success.  Students should look after their planner, don't damage it and keep it safe.  Replacement planners cost £5 from the Finance Office.

The planner will students to keep track of their grades, their attendance, their rewards and helps them to organise their work and practice learning skills.  It contains useful information that will help the students in their lessons.

As well as the planner the students will also need:

  • a bag, large enough to hold their belongings
  • pens
  • pencils
  • coloured pencils
  • highlighter pens
  • Scientific calculator
  • Protractor
  • compass
  • glue stick
  • pencil sharpener
  • eraser
  • ruler

Other subjects require students to have protective clothing:

  • apron for Food Technology
  • large old shirt for Art

At the start of Year 7 a dictionary will be given to each student courtesy of the Oxted Rotary Club.

As part of the requirement for KS3 art education, it is compulsory for students to purchase an Oxted School sketchbook and 3B drawing pencil.  This is available at a cost of £1 from the Art department.  The books used by the Art Department contain pages of high quality cartridge paper, which is suitable for absorbing the water within paints, and for allowing pencil marks to gently build up on its textured surface.
