Art – Photography

Level GCSE
Exam board Edexcel
Website www.edexcel.com

In this exciting option students explore creative ideas which involve using the camera as well as the computer. Students will learn about shutter speed, depth of field, lighting and composition.

Photoshop is the key application we use, and students will be expected to learn about visual and graphic design.

Students will investigate themes such as Text and Image and Portrait and Identity. It is not essential that students have their own digital camera but it will help. As with any of the other art options students will need to demonstrate the process of how to develop and explore their ideas.

Students considering this option will be required to attend a taster session before handing in their option form.

All projects are marked on 4 assessment objectives each are worth 25% of the project mark.
