We Shall Remember Them
Oxted School fell silent at 11.00am on Monday 11 November to remember those whose lives were taken during the war.
A service of remembrance was held at 10.45am in the Main Hall. Following an introduction by Mr Bond, Head Boy Omar M-S read ‘Owen, Anthem for Doomed Youth’. Deputy Head Girl Emily S read out the names of the Oxted County School students who died in conflict. Head Girl Anna R read The Ode.
The Last Post was played by Mrs Homewood, Head of Music, who after the two minutes’ silence played The Reveille. Deputy Head Boy Joel W read the poem ‘Duffy, Last Post’ and the service finished with a clarinet ensemble performing ‘Abide with Me’. #WeWillRememberThem #LestWeForget
