Essential Gas Pipe Replacement Works
We have been advised of the essential gas pipe replacement work happening in Oxted over the coming months.
During this work it will be necessary to have traffic management in place which we appreciate is frustrating and inconvenient at times, but this work will ensure that the residents of Oxted continue to have a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
In consultation with Surrey County Council, the contractor Medway Utilities will be carrying out the work on behalf of SGN.
SGN have already commenced work in Central Way, Oakshaw, and Chalkpit Wood and will be working in the carriage way and verge until 25 July.
To reduce the impact on the local community we will then move to Bluehouse lane during the school holidays.
The work scheduled to start during July is detailed below:
To ensure the safety of everyone around the site from 25 July until 4 September we will be closing Bluehouse lane from the roundabout at the junction of Station Road and Chichelle Road, heading west towards Barrow Green Road. A diversion will be in place. In view of this the bus stops within the closure and some parking may be suspended.
SGN will be updating any changes in the plan on www.roadworks.org
