Fantastic Work on the PPE Production Line

We are delighted to give the Oxted community an update on our production line to date.

So far 1,393 masks have been handed out to a wide range of front line workers from care homes, hospices, doctors surgeries, medical centres, community carers, dentists, podiatrists, police officers, centres for vulnerable adults, centres for those with learning disabilities, pharmacies, assisted living houses, therapy centres, garden centres, canteen staff and more. Special thanks to Oxted Kitchens and St Silvans Area Charity for their donation of the materials to make this happen.

Around 1,450 masks have been made and we are set to make approx. another 300 which will include masks from Nick Keeling and Covid-19 Face shields for Kent and Medway NHS & other healthcare providers

Our scrubs production is in full swing; we almost have our first 10 to go to Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust, and the first 10 of our 96 for Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. The rest are in various stages from being cut, being put together and being completed.

We have had a huge response from members of staff wanting to help with this and have sent out lots of material, patterns and instructions to those making scrubs at home. We are doing 6 different sizes of scrubs and it is one huge production process! We would like to thank Della Skeates at The Charles Lewis Foundation who have donated all the material.

We would also like to thank Dan Roberts and the Holland Sports and Social Club Committee, who have donated materials for headbands, which arrived today. They are also donating some more material for masks. We had already made some headbands from other material whilst waiting for the delivery to come, and the first set of 30, made by our Deputy Headteacher, Ms Nicholls and Che Ramsden, a former Oxted student (attended Oxted 2000-2005), went out today along with more masks.

We must also give a special thank you to Hops & Bubbles Bar Hire who provided an amazing box of refreshments for the team - a fantastic token of thanks and appreciated by everyone on the production line!

Thank you to everyone in the Oxted community
