Oxted School Falls Silent

Remembrance Service - Thursday 11 November 2021

Oxted School remembered the fallen on Thursday 11 November 2021.  The service opened with a short address from Mr Bond, Principal.  Head Student Daniel M read the poem, Wilfred Owen Anthem for Doomed Youth.  Names of students of the School who have died in conflict were read out by Head Student Bethany N. 

The Act of Remembrance was read by Head Student Leonard D.  Mrs Homewood, Head of Music played the Last Post.  Following a two minute silence, Mrs Homewood played The Reveille.  This was followed by a poem by Carol Ann Duffy, Last Post which was read by Head Student Sam O. 

A solo performance of the hymn 'Abide by Me' was sung by Year 11 student Madeleine M and accompanied on piano by Mr Holloway, Teacher of Music.
