Sixth Form Enrolment & Transition to Year 12
Internal Oxted School Applicants for Sixth Form
Sixth Form enrolment takes place on GCSE results day, Thursday 25 August. Progressing Oxted School students will receive a letter and enrolment information when picking up their GCSE results from the Main Hall foyer area. This will inform students which teacher they need to go and see for their enrolment meeting.
The type of enrolment meeting students have will be dependent on their results. Some students may require an option/choice review if they have not met entry requirements for their courses and/or general requirements for Sixth Form. If students do require an option/choice review, then we encourage a parent/carer to be present for the meeting.
We do expect the morning to be very busy, so please expect possible waiting times to speak to a member of the enrolment team, but we will actively do our best to keep this is to a minimum. If a student is unable to attend results day, then we are arranging enrolment meetings during the days following results day. Please contact the Sixth Form Team directly email@example.com to book a later enrolment meeting.
External Applicants Enrolment Day for Oxted School Sixth Form
The main enrolment session for external applicants to Sixth Form will be during the afternoon of results day on Thursday 25 August. We would like students to meet a member of the Sixth Form Team on the afternoon of results day to check that they have met the entry requirements for Sixth Form and their courses.
These in person meetings for external applicants will take place in the Oxted School Main Hall from 1.00pm to 3.00pm. To arrange an appointment time please email Katharine.firstname.lastname@example.org Alternatively, students can turn up on the day without an appointment from 2.00pm to 3.00pm. We prefer that a parent or carer is with students for a Sixth Form enrolment meeting.
What to bring with you to enrol:
Students should bring their Year 11 GCSE/BTEC results with them. If they are unable to produce a printed copy of their GCSE grades, then students should forward the email that they receive from their school to Sixthformoffice@oxted.thpt.org.uk. Students will also need an original copy of their full birth certificate and their passport, if they have one. If we can enrol students at the time, we will need an enrolment form to be completed; paper copies will be available.
If you are unable to attend on Thursday 25 August
If students are unable to attend on Thursday 25 August or they would like a few days to decide on their next steps after Year 11, then we can arrange an enrolment meeting for them on Friday 26 August or Tuesday 30 August.

16-19 Bursary Fund
This is a limited bursary fund allocated to school Sixth Forms and Colleges by the Education and Skills Funding Agency so that we can provide help to young people facing financial hardship and whose access to or completion of full time education might be inhibited by financial consideration. The bursary is paid directly to students and can be used to purchase items like textbooks and technical equipment and also to reimburse travel to school costs. The deadline for submitting the 2022–2023 Bursary Application form is 30 September 2022.
Information regarding the 16-19 Bursary Fund can be found here
If you live in Surrey, please go to Surrey County Council to find out more about paying for travel to school in Sixth Form. Most students aged 16-19 will take advantage of either the 16-17 Saver Card or Surrey’s Student fare Card (for reduced rate bus/and or rail travel) when they travel to school.
